Diktera är en app som omvandlar tal till text. Den korta versionen: allt sker på din egen enhet. Vi samlar inte in, lagrar inte och tar aldrig emot dina inspelningar eller dina transkriberingar. Det enda appen hämtar från internet är själva språkmodellen, en gång.

När du spelar in sparas ljudet som en fil i appens eget lagringsutrymme på din enhet. Ljudet sparas kvar tillsammans med transkriberingen, så att du kan lyssna på inspelningen igen och så att texten kan färdigställas om något avbryter appen mitt i. Inspelningen lämnar aldrig din enhet.
Om du importerar en ljudfil kopieras den till appens lagringsutrymme och behandlas därefter på samma sätt som en inspelning du själv gjort. Din ursprungliga fil ändras inte och flyttas inte.
Den text som skapas sparas lokalt på din enhet, i appens eget lagringsutrymme, om du har valt att spara historik.
Namn på inspelningar och projekt som du själv skriver sparas lokalt på samma sätt som transkriberingarna.
Appen laddar ned en språkmodell för taligenkänning (KB-Whisper från KBLab vid Kungliga biblioteket) en gång, från en publik modellvärd. Inget av ditt ljud, din text eller någon uppgift om dig skickas vid denna nedladdning — appen hämtar endast en fil. Detta är den enda gången appen använder internet.
Appen kan fortsätta spela in när du låser skärmen eller byter till en annan app. Det är avsiktligt: en föreläsning eller ett möte är oftast längre än du håller skärmen tänd, och utan detta skulle inspelningen tystna utan att du märkte det.
Inspelning i bakgrunden startar aldrig av sig själv — den fortsätter endast en inspelning som du själv har startat. iOS visar sin egen inspelningsindikator hela tiden. Du kan stänga av funktionen i appens inställningar; då avslutas inspelningen när skärmen låses.
Appen begär åtkomst till din mikrofon. Den används endast för att spela in ljud som du själv väljer att spela in, och endast medan en inspelning pågår. Du kan när som helst återkalla åtkomsten i enhetens inställningar (Inställningar → Diktera → Mikrofon). Utan mikrofonåtkomst kan appens inspelningsfunktion inte användas.
All data — inspelat och importerat ljud, sparade transkriberingar, namn och projekt, samt den nedladdade språkmodellen — lagras lokalt på din enhet. Vi har ingen server och ingen databas där dina data skulle kunna lagras.
En sak är värd att veta om enhetens säkerhetskopior: om du har säkerhetskopiering till iCloud påslagen ingår appens innehåll — inspelningar och transkriberingar — i enhetens säkerhetskopia, precis som innehållet i alla andra appar. Det är ingen överföring som Diktera gör eller kan se. Säkerhetskopian hanteras av Apple enligt Apples villkor, är krypterad, och vi har ingen åtkomst till den. Du kan stänga av säkerhetskopiering för Diktera i Inställningar → [ditt namn] → iCloud → Hantera lagring → Säkerhetskopior.
Vi har valt att inte undanta inspelningarna från säkerhetskopiering, eftersom det skulle innebära att du förlorade allt om du bytte telefon — och att ingenting går förlorat är en av appens grundprinciper.
Du kan dela en enskild transkribering, eller exportera allt innehåll som en zip-fil till exempelvis Filer, iCloud Drive eller Google Drive. Detta sker endast på din uttryckliga begäran, och du väljer själv mottagaren. Exporten kan innehålla både text och ljud. Vad som händer med filen därefter styrs av villkoren för den app eller tjänst du valt. Diktera delar aldrig något automatiskt.
Eftersom vi inte har någon kopia av dina data behöver du inte kontakta oss för att radera dem. Du gör det själv, direkt på din enhet.
På Mac fungerar det annorlunda. När du flyttar en app
till papperskorgen tar macOS bort själva appen, men behåller appens data —
det gäller alla appar, inte bara Diktera. Vill du få bort allt: radera
innehållet i appen först (Inställningar → Radera all historik, och Radera på
varje modell), eller ta bort mappen
~/Library/Containers/com.talskrift.diktera.
Två saker till, på iPhone och iPad: om du använder ”Avlasta app” i iOS behålls dina data med avsikt — bara appen tas bort. Och om du har säkerhetskopiering till iCloud påslagen finns en kopia i säkerhetskopian även efter att du raderat appen från enheten, tills säkerhetskopian i sig ersätts eller tas bort.
Appen är inte riktad till barn och samlar inte medvetet in uppgifter om barn. Eftersom appen inte samlar in några personuppgifter alls gäller detta alla användare oavsett ålder.
Eftersom Diktera inte samlar in eller behandlar personuppgifter på någon server finns det inga uppgifter hos oss att begära ut, rätta eller radera. Du har ändå alltid rätt att kontakta oss med frågor om hur appen hanterar information, på bridgewell.sv@gmail.com, och rätt att lämna klagomål till Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten (IMY).
Om du spelar in andra personer är det du, inte vi, som avgör om och hur det får ske. Appen ger dig kontroll över materialet men ändrar inte de regler som gäller för dig eller din verksamhet.
Om appens funktion ändras på ett sätt som påverkar hanteringen av information uppdaterar vi denna policy och anger ett nytt datum ovan. Väsentliga ändringar kommuniceras i appen eller på App Store-sidan.

Diktera turns speech into text. The short version: everything happens on your own device. We do not collect, store, or ever receive your recordings or your transcripts. The only thing the app fetches from the internet is the speech model itself, once.

When you record, the audio is saved as a file in the app's own storage on your device. It is kept alongside the transcript so that you can listen back, and so that the transcript can be completed if something interrupts the app mid-recording. The recording never leaves your device.
If you import an audio file, it is copied into the app's storage and then handled the same way as a recording you made yourself. Your original file is not modified or moved.
The text produced is stored locally on your device, in the app's own storage, if you have chosen to save history.
Recording titles and project names you type are stored locally, the same way as transcripts.
The app downloads a speech recognition model (KB-Whisper, from KBLab at the National Library of Sweden) once, from a public model host. None of your audio, your text, or any information about you is sent during this download — the app is only retrieving a file. This is the only time the app uses the internet.
The app can keep recording when you lock the screen or switch to another app. This is deliberate: a lecture or a meeting usually runs longer than you keep the screen on, and without it the recording would stop without your noticing.
Background recording never starts on its own — it only continues a recording you started yourself. iOS shows its own recording indicator throughout. You can turn the feature off in the app's settings, after which recording ends when the screen locks.
The app requests access to your microphone. It is used only to record audio that you choose to record, and only while a recording is running. You can revoke access at any time in your device settings (Settings → Diktera → Microphone). Without microphone access, the recording feature cannot be used.
All data — recorded and imported audio, saved transcripts, titles and projects, and the downloaded speech model — is stored locally on your device. We operate no server and no database in which your data could be stored.
One thing worth knowing about device backups: if you have iCloud Backup switched on, the app's contents — recordings and transcripts — are included in your device backup, the same way every other app's data is. This is not a transfer Diktera performs or can observe. The backup is handled by Apple under Apple's terms, is encrypted, and we have no access to it. You can turn backup off for Diktera in Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Storage → Backups.
We have chosen not to exclude recordings from backup, because doing so would mean losing everything when you moved to a new phone — and nothing getting lost is one of the app's founding principles.
You can share an individual transcript, or export everything as a zip file to destinations such as Files, iCloud Drive or Google Drive. This happens only at your explicit request, and you choose the destination. An export may contain both text and audio. What happens to the file afterwards is governed by the terms of the app or service you chose. Diktera never shares anything automatically.
Because we hold no copy of your data, you do not need to contact us to delete it. You do it yourself, directly on your device.
On Mac it works differently. When you move an app to the
Bin, macOS removes the app itself but keeps the app's data — this applies to
every app, not just Diktera. To remove everything: delete the content in the
app first (Settings → Delete all history, and Delete on each model), or
remove the folder
~/Library/Containers/com.talskrift.diktera.
Two further points on iPhone and iPad: if you use iOS's "Offload App", your data is kept deliberately — only the app is removed. And if you have iCloud Backup switched on, a copy remains in that backup after you delete the app from the device, until the backup itself is replaced or removed.
The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data about children. Because the app collects no personal data at all, this applies to all users regardless of age.
Because Diktera does not collect or process personal data on any server, there is no data held by us to access, correct, or erase. You always have the right to contact us with questions about how the app handles information, at bridgewell.sv@gmail.com, and to lodge a complaint with the Swedish data protection authority (IMY).
If you record other people, it is you, not us, who decides whether and how that may happen. The app gives you control over the material but does not change the rules that apply to you or your organisation.
If the app's functionality changes in a way that affects how information is handled, we will update this policy and set a new date above. Material changes will be communicated in the app or on the App Store page.
